SATS and Phonics Screening Results 2017

END OF SUMMER TERM DATA 2016-2017 FOR YEAR 2

 

THE END OF KS1 RESULTS FOR 2017 (27 CHILDREN)

  • This year under the new DFE Assessment arrangements the children will be categorised as follows within the Interim Assessment Framework.

    PKF = Pre Key Stage Foundations for the expected standard.

    WTS = Working towards the expected standard.

    EXS = Working at the expected standard.

    GDS = Working at a greater depth within the expected standard.

  • Please note that the Government is aiming for all children to reach the ‘Expected Standard’ within their year group.

  • Please note that the level of expectation and the difficulty of criteria for Reading, Writing, Mathematics and Science has increased significantly.

  • The following percentages are based on a judgement combining the SATS result and the final Teacher Assessment.

READING

The reading results show an increase in the number of children achieving EXP+ and GDS compared to July 2016 and a decrease in WTS compared to July 2016.

 

WRITING

The writing results show an increase in the number of children achieving EXP+ and GDS compared to July 2016 and a decrease in WTS compared to July 2016.

 

MATHEMATICS

The mathematics results show an increase in the number of children achieving EXP+ and GDS compared to July 2016 and a decrease in WTS compared to July 2016.

 

SCIENCE

The science results show an increase in the children meeting the expected standard compared to July 2016.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

THE YEAR 1 PHONICS SCREENING

 

In the Year 1 Phonics Screening 2017, 93% of our children in Year 1 (25/27) passed the screening.

 

THE EFFECTIVENESS OF EARLY YEARS

 

The EYFS has 17 Early Learning Goals (ELG). Twelve of these are included within the five Prime Areas.

To achieve a GLD = Good level of development or you must achieve Expected or above in the following 12 areas:

  • Communication and language (3)
  • Literacy (2)
  • Mathematics (2)
  • Physical Development (2)
  • Personal, social and emotional development (3) - TOTAL = 12

 

EYFS assessments are assigned a numeric value:

  • Emerging = 1
  • Expected = 2
  • Exceeding = 3

 

  1. WHAT IS THE ACTUAL LEVEL OF GDS FOR THE END OF JULY 2017?

 

  1. = 29 13 GIRLS (45%) 16 BOYS (55%) 1 CHILD =3.4%

 

 

The final level of GLD = 90% In July 2016 it was 87%

GIRLS = 93% (1 girl not achieving GLD)

BOYS = 87.5% (2 boys not achieving GLD)

EAL = 1 girl achieved GLD

PP = 1 girl achieved GLD

1 boy achieved GLD

3 children remain at emerging in the ELG’s
