Green Flag Eco Award

St Mary's are very proud to have been given the Green Flag Eco Award 2023-2024.  The Eco committee worked very hard and were successful in meeting the requirements. We received some wonderful feedback from the panel that reviewed our application. 

Children were able to apply to be on the eco-committee and the judging panel loved how the Eco-Committee members were appointed to both core and an Eco-Warrior Committee thanks to the overwhelming enthusiasm and interest shown. They loved the message of inclusivity that underpins our Eco Code and the fact that it embodies our values as a school and celebrates the wonderful work that the committee has done so far. 

Our Eco-committee have run both a coat and a toy swap helping to raise eco funds and save items from going to landfill. They have also collected unwanted clothes for Rags2Riches and raised money to buy a compost bin for the school. They are currently making signs for their Children's Eco March in the Park on July 1st.
